“Promises” is episode five of season four of Farscape.
The crew had finally made contact again with Pilot and Moya at the end of the previous episode, “Lava’s a Many Splendored Thing”. Now, they are rendezvousing with the ship.
At the end of the season three finale, “Dog with Two Bones”, Moya had been sucked into a wormhole, but Pilot and Moya don’t remember much of what happened, only that Moya was examined by somebody. The Ancients seem to live in the wormholes, or at least be connected with them strongly in some way; could they have been doing the examining?
Aeryn is onboard, suffering from heat delirium – she has apparently been saved by Scorpius, who was last seen being buried not-quite-dead in “What Was Lost Part 2: Resurrection”. No-one else is very happy to find Scorpius onboard too (who is now definitely not dead). Apparently, he wants asylum, and Aeryn has promised him it. Then a huge ship arrives, demanding Aeryn and calling her an assassin. Meanwhile, Grayza’s command carrier is on the way.
