Harley Quinn – Dye Hard

“Dye Hard” is episode ten of season two of Harley Quinn.

King Shark is arguing with Clayface about Batman and that being animal appropriation as Harley returns to the mall. She asks how Kite Man’s bachelor party, in the previous episode, “Bachelorette”, went. Well, King Shark got married and saved the oceanic trade federation. How was the bachelorette party? Harley starts babbling and asks who wants to drink with her? Drink enough to forget the last 48 hours. Perhaps longer. They both have plans. Cy rolls up and asks what’s wrong. Everyone has someone special in their life but Harley. Cy tells her to do the thing that makes her happy. Life is about feeding your soul. Harley has a different idea, and decides to go out and party and find someone. This results in her being bored at the bar at the top of Wayne Tower. Until the barman makes her laugh. It’s sane Joker.

Gordon is assigning people at GCPD when he gets a package. There’s a message from Batman saying go to the roof. Where the Batplane is. Batman is on video and tells Gordon to get in.

Psycho returns to the mall to get his things and tell Cy how to take care of Riddler. Then leaves again.

Sane Joker is trying to work out of he knows Harley. Then recognises her from the other bar. He’s not trying to hit on her. Harley is going to a different bar. She’s told the others are infested with Para-demons; the bar at the top of Wayne Tower has bulletproof glass. It’s the safest bar in town. As goons break in. Harley wants to creep out; she wants to return the dress. She gets knocked out.

And wakes up handcuffed to sane Joker. The lead goon tells GCPD he wants money. A patron offers him that. He wants a nuke and a missile. Another offers him those. No-one has game worn Gordan trainers though.

Sane Joker tells Harley he had a dream about her. On a yacht with bankers. Harley tells him it’s fiction. Not the opening to “‘Til Death Do Us Part”. Sane Joker says it’s as if meeting her triggered a past life. Oops. They get out through an air vent, and Joker tells Harley to spill. She does, about Ivy and Ivy not trusting her and her old relationship with… someone she won’t properly name.

Gordon is bored. Batman is flying the plane; all Gordon has to do is press a button to capture Para-demons. He wants to fly the plane. Batman wants to fly it, too, and not by remote control, but Alfred won’t let him go out half-healed. Again. Then Gordon sees gunfire at Wayne Tower.

Harley is still venting when they bump into an escaped Riddler. She starts to ask a ask a question and Riddler explains how the hostage situation is a distraction whilst Riddler steals a helmet. Harley was actually going to ask Riddler when he got so buff. Oh, that’s from the hamster wheel. And is that Joker? Sane Joker starts laughing. With a touch of insanity.

Joker may be currently normal, but his old memories and personality are just below the surface. And they’re getting closer and closer to the surface, every time he’s exposed to a violent situation, starts laughing or other people recognise him.
