“Coup by Clam” is episode ten of season four of Farscape.
Moya has stopped at a planet that is so far the first one that they’ve discovered that has the facilities to modify Moya to prevent Tormented Space from driving her insane (crazy living ships are not good). First the crew themselves have to be tested for space madness.
Whilst they’re being tested, they are eating some food from the planet that has an odd side effect – and a dangerous one. The molluscs they have eaten are poisonous, and if they don’t bring a large amount of cash to the doctor who poisoned them, they won’t be given the cure.
Despite bringing the cash, things don’t run smoothly, as the planet is an oppressive one and they manage to run into a coup d’état that’s in progress.
