“A Prefect Murder” is episode nine of season four of Farscape.
At the end of the previous episode, “I Shrink Therefore I Am”, Pilot had suggested that they should go into Tormented Space – which is apparently a rather unpleasant place. Possibly the name is a clue.
They’ve landed on a planet with warring clans on that have only just ceased warring, as it’s the first place they’ve found with drinking water and food, and Moya is dormant due to the hazards of the space they are in.
Aeryn seems to be having visions of what is going to happen. And then she kills the Prefect-to-be (and why the title says ‘Prefect’ not ‘Perfect’).
A rather confusing episode for the first half, as it seems that the same events are being played over and over from different perspectives.
I just noticed that Crais is still in the credits, despite having died, along with Talyn, back in the season three episode “Into the Lion’s Den Part 2: Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing”. Perhaps they aren’t as dead as it would appear. Or maybe it’s just a case of people remaining in the credits even when they don’t actually appear in a programme. That isn’t unknown and does happen; it’s probably down to contractual terms.
