The 4400 – Till We Have Built Jerusalem

“Till We Have Built Jerusalem” is episode seven of season four of The 4400.

Jordan Collier is staring at some kind of colourful image when Kyle comes in and says everyone is waiting. The new world is happening, starting today. Collier is unsure and needs Kyle’s reassurance that no matter what the cost or sacrifice, it will be worth it. Kyle says it will. Collier speaks to the people and says that they will answer the world’s questions and it will never be the same, to applause.

This is actually Maia having a vision and she starts drawing after it.

Diana has cooked for Tom and is apologising for how it turned out. He’s been eating take aways and microwave meals, so it was great. Diana says she’s never had Tom over for dinner before; Tom says she’s never felt that sorry for him before. When a woman invites a man for dinner, in his experience it’s for one of two reasons; attraction or pity, and he’d put his money on pity.

Diana agrees they’ve both had a tough time. Tom is rubbing the mole he got in the previous episode, “The Marked”. He says he’s till him. With regards to the job, Diana asks what he thinks of Meghan Doyle. She thinks Doyle is a little focused on Tom. Then Maia rushes in. Collier is about to do something big. He’s in Seattle and Kyle’s with him. She drew the image Collier was staring at.

At NTAC, Marco scans it so the image can be adjusted to match what Maia saw. There’s speculation as to what it could be. Lots of things, but most of them aren’t cheap. Big corporate or government studies are the most likely, and those records are probably in the computer somewhere.

A woman, Kara, gets out of Shawn’s bed. It seems Shawn healed her mother and he wants her to know he doesn’t make a habit of sleeping with people he heals.

Doyle finds Tom in his office. He is going on the operation; he thinks Kyle can cut a deal. It’s beginning to look as if Diana was right when Marco enters. He knows where Collier is; a heavily polluted former industrial area.

NTAC arrives at the location and Tom is wondering why there. Diana suggests the place is to keep a low profile. Except Tom has found huge pictures of Collier. They find a series of lights forming a perimeter, which when approached cause a lot of pain.

Senator Lenhoff finds Shawn. It seems there’s a news story saying Shawn is accepting sex for miracles. And the timing, mere hours after Shawn slept with Kara, suggests this is a setup. Shawn wants to talk to Kara first. Lenhoff doesn’t think it will work.

The lights wall off a square mile of the most toxic part of the delta. Garrity says they need to see this. Collier is being videoed saying that the 4400s will no longer need to hide their abilities. they claim this most toxic part of the delta and will heal it. Anyone who wants to join them just needs an ability and a willingness to help. The miracles here will work everywhere; the world will be transformed. Join or leave them in peace. If threatened with attack, there will be consequences. A better tomorrow starts here.

This is followed be demonstrations of powers in different parts of the country that would have caused tremendous damage in inhabited reasons. Kyle calls Tom; he’s not going to surrender. Everything depends on Collier. Collier isn’t telling Kyle that; he’s telling Collier. Kyle explains the book of prophecy and how god will show his face and heaven will exist on Earth once everyone takes promicin. Which, Tom points out, will kill half of them. He wants to talk in person. Kyle does not.

Shawn goes to see Kara. It seems she was offered money to pay off her parents’ medical debts and give her a start in live.

Tom tells Diana about the call. She would like to see the book. Given Maia can see the future, it’s possible there’s something to do this. Then military personnel arrive. Collier has seized US territory and declared himself above the law. And the soldiers have powers.

However, according to Maia, if Collier is killed, something bad will happen. She doesn’t know what. Only that everything went black. For everyone. Which does not sound promising.
