“Scars” is episode twenty of season two of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
This episode initially starts a year in the past, when it’s finally revealed what the mysterious Theta Protocol that Coulson was spending so much of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s money on is – a helicarrier. In particular, it’s the helicarrier that Nick Fury had in Avengers: Age of Ultron, as this episode takes place after the events of the film.
Both S.H.I.E.L.D.s are finally getting on with each other, with Coulson remaining director and the others being the advisory council, like the old S.H.I.E.L.D. operated, before it was destroyed from within by HYDRA.
The mysterious item stored on Gonzales’s ship is revealed to be a Kree artefact, and S.H.I.E.L.D. wants to meet the Inhumans, and add them to the Index. Both sides are somewhat hostile to each other, and Raina isn’t helping matters as she tries to control Afterlife. There is potential for some serious trouble.
