“The Armory” is episode two of season one of Falling Skies, although it is also the second half of the two part première of the series when the first and second episodes are combined.
Tom’s team is checking out a local armoury for weapons, after which he will be able to look for his son, Ben, when they are ambushed by a group of outlaws led by a man called Pope. One of them is killed and the rest are captured. Hal is sent back to the rest of the 2nd Massachusetts with a demand for their 50 calibre gun and supplies in exchange for their safe return.
Pope is an interesting character. Despite being a long time criminal, he seems quite erudite and enjoys talking with Tom – something he doesn’t get much of a chance to do with the rest of his gang.
