In the previous episode, “The Real Thing”, Carter had decided that it was Senator Wen who had betrayed the Astraeus crew. He is right and, when Holly figured out that the simulation was a simulation, Wen killed her. In real life.
Carter and Jo have realised that the whole thing must have been set up when Beverley Barlowe took control of Global Dynamics in “Omega Girls”. So, the problem is how do they find Beverley. This turns out to be not as much of a problem as might be initially thought, as she’s in the Sheriff’s office when they get there. Beverley was not happy about Wen’s murder of Holly.
The sim itself is still having problems, and Zane is on the verge of figuring it out too. Beverley jacks Carter into the sim, so he can sabotage it from the inside. Carter is quite good at breaking tech.
