“Some Assembly Required” is episode seven of season two of Dark Angel.
Some steelheads (people with cybernetic implants and attachments) that Alec tangled with in the previous episode, “Two”, are filmed destroying a shop. With them, however, is Max’s friend Zack.
Zack was believed to be dead – in fact, he was dead, as in the season one finale, “…and Jesus Brought a Casserole” he had shot himself in the head so that Max could have his heart, and in designate this Max saw his body being used for parts at Manticore. So not only had he been shot in the head, he was missing a heart too.
This is Zack, and he’s alive and, well, not exactly well, but he’s had some cyberwear replacement for missing organs and parts, including an eye and part of his head. He has no memory of what happened, or who he is, so Max has to try and see if she can restore it.
