411 on the DL is episode six of season one of Dark Angel.
Max gets her motorbike taken off her by the police whilst out riding one night, and she has to pay $3,000 to get it back, money she doesn’t have. Additionally, the private detective she hired, Vogelsang, contacts her, saying he has information about another of the Manticore escapees who has had a barcode removed off the back of his neck, and will sell her the information for $15,000 – more money she doesn’t have.
Even though in the previous episode, “C.R.E.A.M.”, she managed to raise that sort of money gambling in a few hours; something she never even mentions. You would have thought that Max would at least have considered gambling again if she really needed the money that much.
Logan’s ex-wife has also turned up, and Vogelsang has already been compromised by Lydecker. So Vogelsang turns up dead before Max can get the information from him, even with the money.
