“The Heart of the Journey: Part 2” is episode twenty two of season five of Andromeda and both the season and series finale.
At the end of the previous episode, “The Heart of the Journey: Part 1”, the Andromeda Ascendant had gone to Earth to drop Harper off. Whilst there, the planet destabilised. At the beginning of this episode, it explodes, and then Nietzscheans pursue the Andromeda. Analysis of the explosion reveals signs of The Abyss.
The Nietzscheans and The Abyss have allied. The Systems Commonwealth is in disarray, so no help will be coming from them. The Lambent Kith Nebula – Trance’s people – are planning to stop The Abyss by destroying the entire area of the Known Worlds. Things definitely don’t look good.
For a finale episode, it seemed to be missing an actual true finale.
