Warehouse 13 – Endless

“Endless” is episode six of season five of Warehouse 13 and the season and series finale.

In the previous episode, “Cangku Shisi” (which apparently means Warehouse 14 in Chinese), Claire was rescued and cured and Benedict Valda’s Evil Twin from Paracelsus’s alternate timeline was stopped from stealing the Warehouse, and erased from time as well. However, what he did seems to have had some effect, an effect which has Mrs Frederic worried.

This episode opens in Victorian times with a woman running screaming away from what looks like Jack the Ripper. He has her cornered, with his lantern, with no way out but, suddenly, her attitude changes, she puts on some glasses and removes a thimble, revealing it to actually be H.G. Wells. HG kicks Jack’s lamp out of his hands and he turns to run away. Until HG taunts him, resulting in him drawing a knife and turning back. At which point HG stuns him. HG has only been an agent for Warehouse 12 for a month. She is surprised to hear from her mentor Caturanga (played by Erick Avari, Kasuf from the original Stargate film and Stargate SG-1) that Great Britain did not house the first twelve Warehouses, nor will it house the thirteenth.

This memory of HG’s is being watched by Pete, Myka, Jinks, Claudia, Artie and Mrs Frederic as they sit at a round table. The one that inspired the one from the legend of King Arthur. It’s the time capsule of the Warehouse, where agents contribute their memories of their defining moments at the Warehouse. Today it’s the turn of those there to contribute. Artie says that it’s too soon, as agents only contribute when a Warehouse reaches the end of its tenure. As Warehouse 13 is. When the Warehouse moves, the new host country supplies new agents. Pete is really not happy with the idea. When an agent touches the table, it chooses the defining moment to record. Although there are brief flashes from previous episodes, the defining moments are all new. Fortunately, they are not flashbacks, which would have made for a very disappointing final episode (Mrs Frederic keeps showing memories to Jinks whilst everyone else is out of the room, most of which we don’t get to see). Pete really wants to keep the Warehouse in place and tries to find a loophole. The others aren’t really happy about it either, they’re just less vocal about it.

What will happen to the agents with Warehouse 13’s time being up? Will Pete and Myka sort out their feelings for each other? Mrs Frederic promised ‘endless wonder’ so what does the ‘endless’ of the title mean?
