“Progeny” is episode nine of season one of Threshold.
Cavennaugh has a dream about the glass forest and a woman in it. Then, in real life, that woman punches through a bulletproof teller’s screen in a bank. Another woman rips her husband’s head off and throws it out of the window (this is not easy to do). A third woman collapses at a hot dog cart and implodes rather messily.
All three incidents happened within a few miles of each other in Washington, D.C. The dead woman is infected by the aliens, and the woman who ripped her husband’s head off is successfully captured. The third woman is, unfortunately, married to a billionaire friend of the president, so neutralising her is more difficult.
It turns out that all three women had been visiting the same fertility clinic, and the captured one is pregnant – with a foetus that’s developing a little too fast. One of the Bighorn’s crewmen was a sperm donor for the clinic. The woman had also been sending money to the Cayman Islands.
A new National Security Advisor has now been appointed, after Molly has to order the previous one, her friend and mentor, shot down in “The Order” after she, and her entire plane, had been infected.
