“Blood of the Children” is episode three of season one of Threshold.
Gunneson was captured in the previous episode, “Trees Made of Glass: Part 2”. Despite being shot multiple times – once apparently in the heart – he isn’t dead, and is, in fact, recovering. The effects of whatever the crew were exposed to are quite profound. The homes of the other missing crewmen are being staked out to see if they are spotted.
There’s an incident at a fast food restaurant near the home of one of the missing men. A man goes wild, attacks people with more than normal strength, and then is found dead in the wash room, deformed and his head imploded. Although it seems he’s also been infected by the alien signal, he isn’t a crewman. Instead, he works at a nearby military academy.
Caffrey and Cavennaugh lead a team to the academy, whilst the others try to find out how the signal spread. It seems that a passenger jet was much closer to the freighter than originally believed; only, there doesn’t seem to be a connection between that and the academy.
