The Flash – Null and Annoyed

“Null and Annoyed” is episode seventeen of season four of The Flash.

Barry and Ralph are training, but Ralph isn’t taking it seriously. Barry speaks to Iris afterwards; he’s concerned that Ralph is treating it as a big joke.

In the previous episode, “Run, Iris, Run”, Harry identified the last two bus metas, but they haven’t tracked them yet. One, Diana Petty, aka Null, her last known address was Iron Heights. Harry says he needs peace and quiet and no interruptions. Then Breacher arrives, grabs Cisco by the throat and asks for his help.

Breacher tells Cisco he was hunting Lord Crucifer and his vampires, but when Breacher went to finish Crucifer off, his powers were gone. Because Cynthia thinks Cisco is very good, Breacher wants Cisco to fix him.

DeVoe tells Marlize that dark matter is overwhelming his latest host, Izzy. He has a week. Marlize has an idea as to how to extend the host’s life, and finds plans for such have already been started. DeVoe has partially done them. And mentions there are two bus metas left. Marlize corrects him; three, because Weeper is still out there. Which he isn’t.

Two security guards are trying to move a large box. They go to get a trolley and, when they do, Null shows up and touches the box. It flies into the air. The guards come back, finds it’s gone, then leave again. The crate falls and breaks open and Null removes a crown from inside the box that was inside it.

Barry and Ralph arrive at the scene. Barry wants to be discrete; Ralph yells to Joe that he’s got his chai tea. Joe explains what happened. Barry tries retrieving something from the crime scene and trips the guards, causing them to drop a vase.

In the speed lab, Breacher isn’t manager to do any blasts and resorts to a knife. Cisco promises they will fix it. Especially when Breacher says he will give his daughter more time off to be with Cisco. When Breacher leaves to get some food, Caitlin tells Cisco Breacher is in good health. Crucifer didn’t take his powers. Time did. He’s lost them because he’s too old. Cisco does not want to tell Breacher that.

Marlize is working when she accidentally drops her drink and sees Weeper’s tears in it. Not recognising it, diluted by the drink, she starts to analyse them.

In the Cortex, Iris has 17 different aliases for Null. Harry says combining the images will help them track her down. And they get an address. Which Ralph recognises.

He and Barry head to the place, and Earl Cox answers the door. To Barry and ‘Joe.’ ‘Joe’ starts intimidating Earl into talking, saying that Null would have come there to wash her sparklies. Earl claims she hasn’t. Then spills some gems. Null is up near the roof. She drops down, then touches Barry. Who floats up as well.

Barry isn’t liking Ralph’s comedic approach. Null is difficult to deal with as she makes things float. Marlize is researching herself. And Breacher is having age-related performance issues, which Cisco thinks can be fixed with little blue pills.
