“Day Trip” is episode eight of season one of The 100.
In the previous episode, “Contents Under Pressure”, the 100 (or what’s left of them) had finally managed to re-establish communications with the Ark. Unfortunately, there aren’t enough dropships to get everyone down to Earth from the Ark. It doesn’t help that one of the highest ranking guards, Shumway, on the Ark is plotting against the Chancellor, and tried to have him assassinated.
Clarke and Bellamy go on a mission to find an old depot that may have supplies, but one of the others has been given instructions to kill Bellamy. Octavia is trying to see the captured Grounder, as she doesn’t think he is bad.
The entrance to the old depot is surprisingly easy to find, and enter, for a place that supposedly hasn’t been entered since the war – which was 90+ years ago. One would have expected the entrance to have been covered by a lot more undergrowth, and the door to be a lot harder to open. There’s also a problem with some of the food they’ve gathered.
