The SGC receives a transmission Jonas Quinn’s home planet, and his former country of Kelowna. They want to re-open negotiations with Earth, and they still have naqadria. Even though the drive on the X-302 failed to work, the naqadria is still valuable.
Jonas left Kelowna after the events of “Meridian” and hasn’t been back since. He’s worried that he will be considered to be a traitor. Kelowna is only one of three major countries on its planet, and the other two are planning to sign a pact. Kelowna wants military technology in exchange for their naqadria – or they will use their naqadria bomb in self-defence. Pre-emptive self-defence.
Jonas is contacted by a former colleague from Kelowna who claims to be a member of a resistance organisation planning to overthrow the government. He is convinced to return and help, along with SG-1, under the guise of negotiating.
