“Enemy Mine” is episode seven of season seven of Stargate SG-1.
When a prospecting operation on a former Goa’uld world has a man vanish, SG-1 gets called in. Daniel discovers evidence that there are Unas on the planet, and then the missing lieutenant’s body is found. The colonel in charge decides to hunt the Unas down, but this fails and O’Neill gets injured.
Returning to the SGC, Daniel proposes that he tries to negotiate with the Unas, using Chaka, the Unas he befriended in “The First Ones” as an emissary. Unfortunately, O’Neill’s injury prevents him from returning, so Daniel is left with a colonel in charge who is more interested in revenge on the Unas – even if the SGC unknowingly provoked them in the first place – than negotiating a settlement.
This episode could be showing that sometimes talking is better than fighting, when both sides actually have something in common.
