Stargate SG-1 – Dead Man’s Switch

“Dead Man’s Switch” is episode seven of season three of Stargate SG-1.

SG-1 are visiting a world where the UAV was shot down after being sent through the gate. They meet the self-proclaimed greatest bounty hunter in the galaxy and traps them in an energy feed. The bounty hunter knows of them and takes them prisoner. Not that he was actually hunting them; he was actually after a Goa’uld. He is collecting the bounty for Sokar, the Goa’uld first met in “Serpent’s Song”.

As he has captured them, he may as well trade them in, as there are a number of bounties on their head. Not surprising, given how many enemies they’ve made. Unless SG-1 helps him capture the Goa’uld he’s after instead.

More of a comedy episode really in many ways; the bounty hunter seems to be a bit of a caricature. A twist to the plot though.

There’s a bit of an error in the travel times of the ship by the looks of it; it can only go twice light speed, yet reached the planet from somewhere else in only a few weeks. It would take 2 years to travel from here to Alpha Centauri at that speed.
