“Covenant” is episode seven of season eight of Stargate SG-1.
A businessman, Colson, is giving a press conference, challenging the cover story for Anubis’s attack on Earth in “Lost City: Part 2”, which was that the damage of a US carrier battle group and the disruption in global communications was caused by a meteor shower. He says that he has proof revealing the existence of extraterrestrial life, and will reveal it in 24 hours, unless the governments who are in on the conspiracy admit it themselves. Not just any businessman, either, but one with a $60 billion net worth, and he’s one that who worked on the X-302, even if he didn’t know it at the time. So he’s a serious threat of exposure.
The problem is what to do with him, without actually telling him the truth, as it’s thought that he would be unable to keep the secret. And it turns out that he has photographic evidence, taken from his satellites, of the attack on Earth. Unfortunately, he’s not going to give up that easily. He also has a cloned Asgard and pieces of alien ships.
There is more going on. The reporter who on board the X-303 in “Prometheus” contacts Sam, and The Trust, who pay a significant role in the future, are, I think, named for the first time.
Another conspiracy episode.
