“Children of the Gods: Part 1” is episode one of season one of Stargate SG-1.
Stargate SG-1 is the first spinoff series from the 1994 film Stargate.
At the end of Stargate Daniel Jackson had remained on Abydos. Colonel O’Neill has since retired. With Ra being dead and most people on Earth believing the stargate on Abydos be destroyed, only a small team is guarding the stargate when it is activated.
Jaffa led by Teal’c, First Prime of the Goa’uld System Lord Apophis, come through the gate and attack the team, killing all but one, whom they kidnap.
General Hammond recalls O’Neill to duty and a team, including Captain Sam Carter (O’Neill isn’t terribly keen on Captain Carter initially), is sent through to Abydos. The attackers hadn’t come from there, so they’d come from somewhere else in the stargate network, a network which they hadn’t realised existed. The aliens then attack Abydos.
And so it begins.
