“Avenger 2.0” is episode nine of season seven of Stargate SG-1.
Dr. Felger, who was last seen in “The Other Guys”, demonstrates an energy weapon to Major Carter and Colonel O’Neill. The demonstration doesn’t go to plan, and he shorts out the entire base. After that, General Hammond stops his research. Partly because he has yet to fulfil on any of his promises.
Desperate, he states that he has another idea. Hammond gives him 24 hours to come up with it. Problem is, he doesn’t actually have an idea. Then he thinks of something called Avenger, which isn’t ready.
It’s a computer virus designed to affect the entire gate system. Carter agrees to test the virus out. It goes wrong. It affects another gate, the one that O’Neill had gone through. Then it appears to have affected more gates. The virus is spreading, and it eventually takes down the entire network.
Another less than entirely serious episode.
