“Sanctuary for None – Part II” is episode thirteen of season four of Sanctuary and the second and final episode of the two part season and series finale.
In the previous episode, “Sanctuary for None – Part I”, Magnus had agreed to help Caleb, the leader of the Hollow Earth insurgents, to end the conflict and build a new homeland home for Abnormals in the Fifth District of Old City. Will had been brought in to help SCIU by Addison, who had reactivated his former federal agent status and drafted him. Will had tried to arrest Magnus, under orders admittedly, although he has clearly had enough of Magnus keeping secrets and forever being fobbed off with Magnus saying that she would tell him in time.
Bigfoot had left the Sanctuary to go to the new homeland. Addison was actually pleased that it had been created and surrounded it, claiming a chemical spill. So Magnus went on the news to reveal the existence of Abnormals.
So, what game is everyone playing? Addison seems clearest; he wants to end the Abnormal threat and would appear to prefer violence to do so. Will just seems to want to know what is going on. Bigfoot may or may not still be affected by the Crixorum who tampered with his mind in “Acolyte”. Caleb may or may not be what he says he is. Magnus definitely has something planned, but has not divulged what it is. Possibly, she came up with a plan during the long way home after the events of “Tempus”. Magnus had Richard Feliz shut down Wall Street for 12 minutes, and it was not revealed why or what she intended to do with her money.
Addison is dealing with the fallout from Magnus’ TV speech. Addison still thinks that they can spin this, but Will is rather less convinced. Then Magnus calls Will. Magnus says that it was necessary, because a prison wouldn’t be the end result, even though the order wouldn’t come from Addison himself. Magnus, having lived through World War II, has seen what happens when people are walled in. Magnus says that Will is in the right place, but still doesn’t tell him what for.
Things are not going well for Addison, because his superiors are not happy with how things turned out. So he turns to Will to find out what Magnus is planning. Addison thinks that Will knows, but he probably doesn’t. Addison has also been told that the tech he took from Tesla is going to be used on a wider scale, on both Abnormals and humans. Will does agree to help, in exchange for allowing him access to the secure networks again. Will might have intended for this to happen.
Caleb is planning something, which he tells Bigfoot. Caleb has what he calls evolution – a virus that will transform humans into Abnormals. Caleb still thinks that war is a waste, but his intentions are not pure. He plans for the other Abnormals to dominate the humans.
Henry and Tesla are investigating the tech SCIU has surrounded the homeland with. Tesla recognises it, because he invented it, although he is not happy about what SCIU is going to use it for. Bruno Delacourt, the flying Abnormal from “Homecoming”, is providing means for people and supplies getting in and out of the homeland.
Bigfoot reveals which site he is actually on and Will, with Abby’s help, using the database access that Addison gave him, figures out just what Magnus was up to during the hundred years she supposedly spent meditating on a mountain in Nepal. Which never seemed likely. He doesn’t divulge what this is, though, and it’s not until the very end until we find out. Magnus has had a very long plan in motion, although it’s not certain if she’s planned for her own survival. Time is running out before Addison is ordered to kill all the Abnormals.
