“End of Nights: Part 2” is episode two of season two of Sanctuary.
At the end of the previous episode, “End of Nights: Part 1”, Magnus and the others had gone to find the Cabal, only to walk into a trap. Ashley had been changed by the Cabal, and had Druitt’s teleportation ability as well as the abilities of a vampire – and maybe other powers too. The Cabal then made another five like her, and their first mission is to destroy the Sanctuary network.
Magnus contacts Dana of the Cabal, and the latter offers to return Ashley – in exchange for Magnus’s Sanctuary network. Dr. Magnus asks Tesla and Henry to develop a weapon against Ashley that is both effective and non-fatal, and the Cabal attacks the Tokyo Sanctuary, which falls in 20 minutes. Ashley and the others start hitting the other Sanctuaries and stealing their data. It seems that the Sanctuary network operates with the cooperation of governments, something that hasn’t been made clear until now.
They try to get more information from Kate, the independent Cabal operative who came to them for ‘sanctuary’ after being written off by the Cabal, which then tried to kill her, but don’t seem to get much. Ashley, and the others like her, seem to be practically unstoppable, and nothing seems to do more than slow them down. Things are not looking good for the Sanctuaries, and losses mount. Residents are evacuated from the Sanctuaries, and they start falling back to the Magnus’s. Of course, there will be a solution – but it may not be a good one.
