“Kansas” is episode twelve of season four of Farscape.
In the previous episode, “Unrealized Reality”, the entity that Crichton met in the wormhole told him to be careful when exiting it, so that he would exit at the right place and the right time. Unfortunately, it looks like he wasn’t careful enough. Not only has he arrived in orbit over Earth (in a spacesuit! Well, that’s better than not having one), rather than near Moya, he is also 15 years into the past.
He is still able to communicate with Moya through the wormhole, so several of the others come through it in D’Argo’s ship, so at least he has a way of getting down to Earth.
Because the being he called Einstein said that coming back to a prior point in his timeline, it would be bad. So he goes down to check things out. You’d think that would cause more problems, by actively interfering with the world. He’s back in 1986, though, and his father is now going up in the Challenger – which he wasn’t before. After all, he was alive (this being Challenger’s fatal launch).
The rest have to try and fit on Earth – with less than brilliant results – as Moya is boarded by Commandant Grayza.
The story still does not conclude, but continues in the next, “Terra Firma”.
