“Right as Raynes” is episode eight of season one of Eureka.
A young man called Callister Raynes has returned to Eureka. He left after a fire destroyed Stark’s lab after Raynes had been fired, and he had been considered a suspect by the previous sheriff, who Carter replaced, but Stark had always said he was innocent of the charges. Jo had also had a relationship with him.
The town’s intranet starts misbehaving. Everything in Eureka is linked to computers, which means that everything could be affected. This is rather odd, as the town runs off a custom operating system, so only someone familiar with it could affect it this way. It’s a lot harder to comprise an operating system if no-one outside the town knows anything about it.
The two events are, of course, linked, but probably not in a way that’s easy to guess.
