“Have an Ice Day!” is episode seventeen of season three of Eureka.
Tess is filling in for Allison as boss of Global Dynamics, as the former is on maternity leave after giving birth in the previous episode, “You Don’t Know Jack” (Salli Richardson-Whitfield, the actress who plays Allison, had actually been pregnant that year). She wants everything to go smoothly, but this is Eureka.
GD is receiving an enormous ice core from the Arctic, which is being brought back by Zane and Taggart – the latter hasn’t been seen since “A Night At Global Dynamics”, he has apparently been away. The core is accompanied by a Russian officer who wants Carter to jump through all kinds of hoops before he will allow GD to sample the core. Although he actually has other motivations.
Jo had been looking forward to Zane returning, but his greeting is frosty to say the least- Arctic, in fact – and he really doesn’t seem to be himself. Then the ice from the core starts rapidly spreading through the facility.
