“Rush Hour” is episode two of season four of Continuum.
In the previous episode, “Lost Hours”, soldiers in powered armour from Brad’s future had come back, and immediately tried to kill Kiera. She managed to survive, but Brad is now with them, perhaps as an inside man. Alec attacked Piron’s servers, partly as an attempt to get back at Kellog for taking control of the company in “Last Minute” but mostly to get the information he will need to send Kiera back to her future. If that’s possible. Emily, despite her best attempts, was captured by some strange men. Who they were was not stated, but it seems quite likely that Kellog was behind it, retaliating against Alec. The future soldiers also work for Future Kellog, and at the very end of the episode, Present Kellog had received a device holding a holographic message from his future self.
This episode opens where the last left off. Future Kellog tells Present Kellog that they lived well for a few years, until the economic collapse. He survived it, but Future Kellog is another person who wants to change the future, because his future is not too good. He tells Present Kellog to trust his team, the soldiers from the future.
Kellog then receives a message and Emily is then seen locked up, with someone opening the door to take a photo. Alec is talking to Kiera about the technology from Brad’s future, which is totally different to that of hers, and she gives him the device she stole from them before Marcellus, their leader, threw her off a roof (which really was a dumb way for people with big guns to try and kill someone). Then Alec gets a message – it’s the photo of Emily. Kellog was of course behind Emily’s abduction. Kellog wants Alec to return all the information that Alec stole from Piron during the hack, which includes the information on time travel. Which Kiera points out is useless without a time travel device. Unfortunately, Kellog has the other device, and the future soldiers quite probably have something of their own as well. So, not exactly useless information. Kiera really doesn’t want Kellog to have access to time travel. So, they need a cunning plan.
Marcellus himself arrives at Kellog’s office with a list of supplies and other things they need. Future Kellog told Present Kellog to supply them with everything they need. It’s apparently an expensive list. Future Kellog is keeping Present Kellog in the dark though, and Kellog doesn’t seem to quite trust himself.
Kiera reaches out to Carlos for help. The latter wants to bring Kellog in immediately, but Kiera talks him out of it, pointing out – rightly – that this would be fatal for Emily. She also meets with Brad, who is remaining inside, but it seems his team doesn’t entirely trust him. But do Kiera and Brad trust each other? Should they trust each other.
Alec is getting help from Jason and Lucas, as well as Julian. The problem is how to get Emily back without Kellog figuring it out. Emily is not exactly a helpless victim though.
Dillon is back, but not with the police, but with Piron. He’s a little worse for wear though. Still, he could be dead – Sonya certainly seemed to be trying to kill him.
Travis and Garza have their own plans; they don’t trust Kellog and seem to think that Kiera has joined sides with him. Perhaps Lucas hasn’t told them about the kidnapping. It’s not clear who Lucas is working with at the moment. Possibly both Alec and Liber8.
