“Armed and Dangerous” is episode fifteen of season two of Batwoman.
In the previous episode, “…And Justice for All“, Luke was shot by Tavaroff when he pulled out a phone. Tavaroff is being interviewed by the Crows and is lying through his teeth. Though Kane doesn’t seem convinced. Luke isn’t doing well and is having a vision of himself in Bruce’s office. And his father is there.
Ryan and Mary are heading to the Batcave; Mary is filling Ryan in on just how badly Luke is injured. She also explains that she was on the phone with Luke, who said he could handle the car theft. When he didn’t call back or answer his phone, she decided he couldn’t. Mary explains that Luke recognised the thief; he was in the cell with them. Mary is going to let Batwoman sort out Eli. She’s nominated herself to save Luke. Abd the reason she’s not at Gotham General is that the hospital doesn’t have the Desert Rose.
Alice is rummaging through the dead Dr Rhyme’s files, finding ones on her dad and on Mary, both marked for Roman Sionis. Ocean returns; he thought it would be best to ditch the evidence. Alice agrees that’s probably for the best, given whose daughter Rhyme was. Showing that the unusual top of the doctor’s cane is a question mark on its side. The Riddler’s symbol. Alice knows why she’s invested in Kate but she doesn’t know why Black Mask is so interested in her family. Ocean doesn’t think Kate is worth dying for.
Ryan catches Eli, who explains that it was the Crows who shot Luke. Though he may have claimed Luke was the thief. But Luke was stupid enough to grab his phone and the next thing someone shouted ‘Gun!’ and shots were fired. Eli ran. But he heard the shooter’s name, Tavaroff.
Luke is now seeing Bruce Wayne. Who says that Luke brought him here because Luke was shot. He now has a choice.
Mary is working on a cure when Ryan explains what happened and looks up Tavaroff. Mary suggests Sophie as backup but Ryan wants to personally take him down.
Alice arrives in Bruce’s office and knocks over a chair to trigger the alarm. Mary heads up; Alice wants to know if Mary has seen Circe. She hasn’t. Which was what Alice wanted to know. But she does warn Mary. Ryan finds Tavaroff and is demanding the truth from him. Which he refuses to do, then pushes her in front of a Crows’ vehicle and escapes.
Alice returns to her subway car. Ocean is there. She can’t understand why he hasn’t been driven away by her actions. Including killing him. Because he can’t help who he loves. And whatever they felt for each other was enough to bring back their memories. Alice wants it all; she wants Ocean and Kate.
Ryan has called Sophie to the Batcave to get information on Tavaroff. Mary is going to the hospital to treat Luke, but two Crows won’t let her in. Sophie and Ryan are watching bodycam footage on the news, which shows Luke pulling a gun. A gun that is linked to an armed robbery. Ryan then gets a message from Mary; she can’t get in. Sophie explains where the original footage is kept. Ryan starts having a go at her, but Ryan is actually blaming herself for Luke playing hero, given how she goaded him.
This means they have to recover the bodycam footage, and get the medicine to Luke. And Luke has to decide whether or not he wants to live.
