Apollo and Starbuck or on a recon mission when they come under fire. By two more Vipers. The pursuing Vipers finally identify that they’re shooting at Vipers and humans. Lt. Sheba tells her wingman, who says they’re the only ones alive. Sheba contacts them and demand their surrender. When her wingman’s name, Bojay, is mentioned, Starbuck recognises him. He served with Starbuck and Apollo until transferring to the Fifth Fleet. Which was destroyed. Sheba tells them to maintain radio silence until they land on the Pegasus. Commander Cain’s ship.

On Galactica, Adam tells Tigh that they’re almost out of fuel. They’ll have to come to a stop in order to leave the remainder for life support. And the recon patrol is overdue and may be out of fuel.

On the Pegasus, Starbuck and Apollo are told that Cain headed in the other direction to the Colonies when the rest of the fleet was destroyed. They’ve been fighting Cylons ever since. Cain meets with the two of them in is quarters. He decides that with Galactica they have enough to go on the offensive and bring the Cylon empire down.

On Galactica, Athena tells Adama they’re picking up something. It seems to be a visual echo, because it’s a battlestar. Then they get contacted on a military channel used by battlestars. Then Cain contacts them and says he’s coming over. He arrives, bringing Starbuck and Apollo. Cain explains that Gamoray is now the Cylons’ outer capital.

In Adama’s quarters, Cain explains they’ve been attacking Gamoray, and now with Galactica they can launch a full strike and bring the Cylons to their knees. Adama disagrees, saying a military victory is out of the question as they have 220 civilian ships to guard. They need fuel and should go after Cylon tankers. Cain wants a couple of squadrons to go after Gamoray.

On Pegasus, Cain tells Apollo and Starbuck he’s looking for a young lady. Cassiopeia. And Sheba is his daughter. Afterwards, Starbuck assumes that Cassiopeia won’t be interested in Cain now. He goes to tell her. It seems she is happy that Cain is alive.

Adama wants fuel and to protect the fleet, but Cain wants to launch an attack on the Cylons and is willing to bend things so that they seem to have no other choice. The story continues in “The Living Legend Part II”.
