“The Torment, the Release” is episode eleven of season four of Andromeda.
The fleet of the Systems Commonwealth turns up and surrounds the Andromeda Ascendant. They have orders to bring Dylan in to be tried for treason, including the refusal to release a known criminal – Rhade – to the Commonwealth (does Dylan ever regret reforming the Commonwealth? The new version seems a massive pain at times).
Dylan takes the Andromeda to Terrazed, and is brought before the three Triumvars. The person trying him is Pish Tryan, the head of the Collectors and the person who was allying with Tyr in “Soon the Nearing Vortex”. So, probably not a terribly nice guy then.
The trial is clearly a farce, designed to stop Dylan from preventing the Collectors from taking control of the Commonwealth, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be effective. A downside is that we see a lot of excerpts from previous episodes.
