Warehouse 13 – Reset

“Reset” is episode twelve of season two of Warehouse 13.

In the previous episode, “Buried”, Warehouse 2, which had been lost for around two thousand years, had been discovered, apparently by some students. This caused problems for Mrs. Frederic, so Pete, Myka and H.G., accompanied by the Regent, Mr Valda, had gone to the warehouse and entered it, a process which cost Valda his life. The Warehouse was successfully deactivated, saving Mrs Frederic’s life.

Claudia had investigated to find out how the students had discovered Warehouse 2, and found a money trail that led to Warehouse 13. In Warehouse 2, H.G. had shot both Pete and Myka with some type of stunner. H.G. may well have been the one who got the students there.

A focal point of H.G.’s life has been the loss of her daughter. It clearly upset her, and resulted in her inventing a time machine, of sorts (used by Pete and Myka in “Where And When”) in a failed attempt to save said daughter’s life. At the end of “Time Will Tell”, H.G. had been designing something that hasn’t appeared as yet. Could this be some new way of saving her daughter, and is Warehouse 2 required? It was, after all, left with most of the artefacts still in it. Artie has also disappeared.

This episode opens with Pete shaking Myka awake in Warehouse 2 after the effects of whatever stun device H.G. used on them. Sand is pouring into the Warehouse and the way they entered is impassable. Myka is really, really angry with H.G. for duping her, but they need a way out. Their Warehouse has a back door and this one has too – a hatch in the ceiling. First they need to get to the ceiling, which involves using the Wings of Daedalus. The hatch is stuck, but Artie contacts them on their Farnsworth – he had figured out that H.G. was a bad guy and so went to find them.

Rescued from Warehouse 2, the next job is to work out what H.G. stuck. Mrs Frederic still has some of the information that Warehouse 2 downloaded into her brain, but it’s fading fast. She works out that H.G. took a spear, but not what the spear was.

H.G. has headed to Paris where her daughter was killed, and buried, so Myka and Pete head there. It’s though that Helena is going to try and resurrect her daughter, which Artie says is very dangerous. However, she simply takes a handle from her daughter’s coffin.

The handle is shaped like something Leena has had stuck in her head as a side-effect of the pearl MacPherson used on her. Combined with the spear it makes a trident – the Minoan Trident. The first Weapon of Mass Destruction, and the first thing Alexander the Great placed in the first Warehouse, and the thing that was responsible for causing the volcanic eruption that destroyed the Minoan civilisation. H.G. has been planning something from before she was bronzed – and she’s heading to the Yellowstone Caldera, the largest supervolcano in the world. The world’s biggest volcano combined with something that causes volcanic eruptions sounds like a bad combination, and one that doesn’t seem to have much connection to the murder of H.G.’s daughter.

In the previous episode, Claudia was informed that she was the one planned to take over as the Warehouse’s caretaker from Mrs Frederic and she’s worried about this. Pete is concluding that he does love Kelly, but H.G. is going to take advantage of this.
