“Mild Mannered” is episode two of season two of Warehouse 13.
Pete and Myka are in town, with Pete trying to make friends (not that successfully) with the locals. Myka is picking up a delivery from D.C. (her stuff) but there is nothing for Pete.
Artie and Claudia are in the Warehouse and Artie wants Claudia to put up emotion detectors so that the Warehouse isn’t vulnerable again. Artie is having an argument with Claudia about killing when they get a warning from Detroit, Michigan.
In Detroit, a thief is robbing a house when a door opens behind him. There seems to be nothing there, but then he is grabbed by an invisible force. Outside the house, gunshots are heard and then the thief is thrown out of the building. Through the wall.
This is apparently the third vigilante attack of its kind. The first was a mugger who was delivered to a police station – wrapped in a street light. The second was a drug dealer who was found on a flagpole. One that was quite high up as well. Both are in comas.
Myka and Pete head to Detroit and, at the third scene, find the thief’s bullets, which struck something and became flattened. The first, most obvious (too obvious) suspect is the police officer who was first on the scene in all three instances. So Myka and Pete follow him and arrive at a fourth scene just after him. It is, of course, not the officer – it’s the masked man in purple spandex who can also fly.
Pete says that the man is a superhero, and explains to Myka that it is actually a superhero, one called the Iron Shadow. Only the Iron Shadow didn’t have superpowers – he was a vigilante who had trained himself extensively. More Batman than Superman. Only this new Iron Shadow does have powers – from an artefact. The identity of the vigilante is pretty obvious and quickly figured out. The problem is getting someone with superpowers to turn over the artefact.
There are problems at the Warehouse. Things are awkward between Claudia and Leena, because the former isn’t pleased that Leena took her identity in “MacPherson” and made it look as if Claudia was the one who was betraying the Warehouse. Leena was under the control of MacPherson though, via an artefact; Claudia needs to really accept that.
Artie is seeing MacPherson himself. Who is dead; he dissolved in “Time Will Tell” in Artie’s arms when the, female, H.G. Wells, cut off the necklace that was stopping his blood from turning to acid (which didn’t come as a surprise; as soon as MacPherson told Wells what the necklace did it seemed highly likely that she would cut it off). Artie says that ghosts aren’t real, so what is he seeing.
Leena herself is having problems, some sort of weird visions. Which would appear to be something new.
