“Outbreak” is episode eleven of season one of Threshold.
In the previous episode, “The Crossing”, it turned out that the infected guard, Adams, had been infected by food he eat. Even worse, Lucas, one of the Red Team, has also been infected the same way. It seems the alien infectees have managed to contaminate at least part of the food supply, especially as a teenager suddenly went berserk in the middle of a family meal. Threshold must identify the source of the contaminated food and stop it. Lucas, fortunately, doesn’t seem to be succumbing to the infection as quickly as others have, but he is succumbing all the same. Molly makes a decision to bring in a new expert to the Red Team.
The new National Security Advisor is continuing to be a problem, butting heads with J.T. and altering Molly’s orders – which could have led to the new infection. Manning, the infected captain of the Bighorn, contacts Molly and says he wants to talk to her – and he does, outside Threshold HQ itself. He claims that he knows what the aliens want, and what they want is to save humanity. If they don’t help, the human race will be wiped out. Threshold is not convinced.
