“The Calm” is episode eleven of season one of The 100.
At the end of the previous episode, “I Am Become Death”, the 100 had destroyed the bridge (in a mushroomed-shaped explosion that brought back bad memories) to prevent the grounders from getting to their camp for a few days. Murphy had also shown that he was willing to kill his fellows for exiling him. When Sydney hijacked the Exodus ship in “Unity Day”, she took out most of the Ark’s systems at the same time. As well as crashing the ship into the ground.
Now, the Ark is finally getting some of the systems back online. Kane comes to in a deserted corridor with flickering lights. Very futuristic survival-horror. All that’s needed now are some bloodstains and bodies to complete the picture. Back at camp, an accident destroys most of the food supplies, so they have to go hunting. Which results in the grounders hunting them.
They’ve managed to keep the series about the young people fairly intelligently, with decent reasons for the adults not turning up.
