“Hesperides” is episode four of season seven of The 100.
Hope runs back to the cabin after Octavia and Diyoza were taken in “The Garden”. She’s taking care of herself when she hears a noise and runs out to the Anomaly. Disciples are dropping a man off with a box of things. When he, probably Dev, arrives at the cabin, Hope threatens him. He leaves, but with a smile. When he returns, he eats some berries, despite Hope telling him not to. The berries make him sick and Hope cares for him, seeing the countdown. Dev tells her it’s 10 years, and until then just them. Hope has a bit of a breakdown, then hugs him. She needs to save them. Mom and Aunty O. Dev teaches her weapons and fighting. Years pass and the Disciples are finally returning. With two days left, Dev puts the symbols on Hope’s face. Dev takes down two Disciples, but the third stabs him, but Dev pulls the pin from a grenade on the Disciple’s belt. He knocks Hope out of the way of the explosion, then dies.
In the present, Gabriel is hitting the prisoner. For breaking the thing that would have allowed him to figure out the gate. Hope says to leave him alone and the man runs. They need him. Without him, they are dead. They have five years to train for the jump into a fortress of highly trained soldiers to rescue the people they love. By then, he will love them. She’s done this before.
In Sanctum, they’re looking at the body of a Disciple killed by Echo and the others in “From the Ashes”. They can’t remove the helmet and Clarke wants it intact. Raven will figure it out. Where is she. At the reactor, which was stopped from going critical in the previous episode, “False Gods”. Jordan arrives with someone; there’s another Disciple outside the shield asking for Clarke.
Clarke finds Raven first, who is looking a little battered. Clarke reassures Raven she did what she had to do. Clarke has personal experience with that. She has something to show Raven.
At the shield, the Disciple removes his mask. Clarke says they can shoot through the shield. Good. Then so can they. Four more Disciples drop their invisibility. Their friends are safe. For now. They need Clarke’s help because their leader believes she’s key to winning the last war mankind will ever wage. Clarke agrees, but wants their friends back first. The Disciples will return to the bridge. They will meet at Gabriel’s camp. Be warned, time moves much faster where their friends are.
Raven is working on the Disciple; Jordan is hovering. She manages to get the mask of but sees Hatch’s dead face inside. Clarke returns and tells them the others have invisibility. They’re leaving, and if Raven finds anything out, she will ride out. Raven asks where Bellamy, Octavia and Echo are.
Echo is not impressed at having to dig a garden. She’d rather hunt the prisoner down. Gabriel thinks his way is better. They come across a stone with an ‘H’ on; Hope has a memory of Octavia painting ‘Hesperides’ on it. Echo is talking to the plants some time after when she hears a noise behind her. Not Gabriel but the prisoner. He has pumpkin seeds. He asks if she’s there. She is. Plant the seeds; Echo will go get her. Gabriel returns before Echo does and the man runs off again. Gabriel says he will be back; he’s on the hook. Echo thinks they should bait the hook. With Hope.
Attempts to convince the prisoner, Orlando, to help will not go smoothly. But they have years to get it right. Meanwhile, on Sanctum, Raven and Jordan are trying to work out the Disciple suit whilst Clarke and the others go to meet the rest.
