“Truth and Consequences” is episode eleven of season two of Superman and Lois.
At the end of the previous episode, “Bizarros in a Bizarro World”, Bizarro Jonathan had seen Jonathan. He’s planning to merge and Lois tells Jonathan to run. Jordan tries to stop Bizarro Jonathan, but gets tossed aside, and Bizarro Jonathan is in the process of merging when Superman flies in and drives them apart. Bizarro Jonathan then flies off.
Clark fills his family in on what happened in Bizarro Worlds. He doesn’t know if Ally is a god, but the pendant packs a lot of power and Bizarro Jonathan came here to do the same thing. Yes, he can do everything Clark can, but the yellow sun weakens him like the red one weakened Clark. Jonathan, when asked, says he had what sounds like the start of the visions. Clark warns that this means Bizarro Jonathan will be able to see where they are. Lois decides to see if John Henry is still up.
Jordan has been sending messages to Sarah when Lois joins him. She tells Jordan that sometimes, when she has a really big problem, she writes it down in a letter. Then John Henry arrives. He doesn’t have any idea how long it would take to disrupt the link between the two Jonathans, then Jonathan has a vision of Bizarro Jonathan on Main Street.
Clark heads there, but Lana comes out before he can approach Bizarro Jonathan. Which leads to a confusing conversation for Clark, as he doesn’t know he’s been away for over a month, or that Lois had a cover story. Bizarro Jonathan leaves by the time Lana goes.
Back at the farm, Lois fills Clark in on how long he was gone, her cover story and that Lana won the election. He says it was maybe a day for him. Clark realises Lana was hurt and Lois says she’ll go and try to smooth things over. Clark asks if there was anything else. Which leads to another conversation with Jonathan about the X-K. Clark is bothered about keeping the family secret, especially having seen what not having it did to their family on the other side.
Natalie and John Henry are working. Natalie is worried that Ally has the potential to create an army of people more powerful than Superman, the most powerful person in the world. John Henry tries to reassure Natalie that he won’t let the worst-case happen.
Lana and Sarah are talking; both are a bit upset with Clark and Jordan. Though Lana says Clark has always been a little not present, and Sarah says Jordan is like that too. And Sarah is given car keys.
Jordan has written his letter and Jonathan reads it. It seems he approves.
Sarah is driving out when Bizarro Jonathan arrives. From her point of view, he’s acting, and dressing, odd. Bizarro Jonathan heads into the house when Sarah has left, and blasts Lana into a cabinet.
Sarah is setting up her mother’s office when Lois arrives. Lois says she’s impressed how well Sarah is handling things, far more maturely than Lois at her age. Every guy Lois dated at 15 was done to annoy her father, and she was really good at annoying Sam. Lois realises she hasn’t told Clark about anyone she dated in high school. Sarah asks what’s going on with Jonathan, mentioning seeing him, and Lois realises it was Bizarro Jonathan and leaves.
Lois tells Clark she thinks Bizarro Jonathan has Lana. The boys ask why and Clark explains that Bizarro Lana worked for Ally with Bizarro Jonathan. Their secret comes up again; Clark doesn’t want to talk about it right now.
The device that John Henry and Natalie are working on takes a little too much form Smallville’s power grid. Bizarro Jonathan wants to merge Lana with her alternate. And the secret of Superman keeps coming up. Even though Clark is justifiably disturbed by what happened to his celebrity family, the secret is still causing damage.
