“Last Sons of Krypton” is episode fifteen of season one of Superman and Lois and the season finale.
In the previous episode, “The Eradicator”, Edge took Jordan and put Zeta-Rho inside him.
Neither Superman nor John Henry’s AI can find Jordan. Leslie Larr is being led past in cuffs, saying they are going to fail again. Superman is going to head back out; he asks John Henry to stay in case something happens. Lois runs off when he goes.
Sarah leads her parents to the wrecked car. Kyle gets Sam out and says he needs hospital. They both do. Sarah speaks to Jonathan; she told her parents about Edge. Why would he take Jordan?
Zeta-Rho tells Edge to go and get the forces necessary to resurrect the Defence Council. He will ensure Edge isn’t disturbed. With the aid of the son of Kal-El.
Lois calls the soldiers with Leslie Larr. She wants to speak to her. She’s granted a minute. Leslie says she doesn’t know where Edge took Jordan; the world is pretty big. And she’s sure Lois’s son is long gone. She says that Lois caring about one person when every person on the planet is about to die is pathetically human. Lois has no idea what is coming next and even Superman will not be able to stop it. Leslie says she recognises the look on Lois’s face. It’s the same one Leslie had when she realised there was nothing she could do to save Krypton.
Sam and the others have arrived back in town where the inhabitants are gathered around the soldiers, definitely unhappy. Sam goes to deal with it. Kyle asks Sarah and Lana whether they should go or stay and help. Stay.
Superman is listening around the world and shouts for Jordan. Jordan is next to a burning pit and hears and calls back.
In Smallville, Sam is trying to get the residents to be quiet. Lana successfully gets them to shut up and Kyle says to listen. They all need to go home and stay there. They say Superman saved metropolis and the people who were infected were apprehended. So, why is the DoD still in Smallville? Chrissy says that Edge wasn’t caught, was he? A moot question; he’s behind them.
Superman finds Jordan and asks what happened. Jordan is explaining that there was an accident and Edge grabbed him when Zeta-Rho takes over and hits Superman, saying Jordan was Eradicated. Zeta-Rho says Jordan is the perfect vessel. A child with the untapped power of a Kryptonian and the easily manipulated mind of a human.
Edge is glowing in Smallville and Zeta-Rho is fighting Superman, who isn’t fighting back because it’s Jordan, something Zeta-Rho considers a weakness as he sacrificed his only son. Jonathan is trying to call Superman but Lois says he’s trying to save Jordan. John Henry flies in and fires a red solar missile at Edge, which looks to have some, but not enough, effect, then is knocked to the ground with little power. Soldiers come forward and start firing, but Edge uses X-Kryptonite to resurrect the Defence Council, as Zeta-Rho gloats to Superman. Edge and the soldiers leave as Superman returns.
Smallville is going to be evacuated. They talk about the possessed soldiers. The powers won’t last, so presumably they’re only needed temporarily. John Henry says the red sun weapon made a dent; that was the only missile, though. Sam will prepare, because either they will find Jordan or he will find them, and he wants to know what to do when it happens. Lois says that she and Jonathan will save Jordan; Superman and John Henry will take on Edge. She has faith in their sons.
John Henry modifies his hammer with red solar tech. He explains to Superman that it will pierce the Eradicator’s energy field and stop him. However, the hammer gains energy the further it is thrown and it will need to be thrown a long way with Edge at the dead centre. Superman will ensure he’s there. Sam had brought the weapon Thaddeus Killgrave used in “Haywire”; Lois hands it to Jonathan and says to only use it when he has to.
Edge enters the mines where there’s a whole lot of X-Kryptonite. Superman and the AI detect it. They confront the soldiers and Jordan, with the intention of taking Jordan back to Lois.
Lois has to go inside Jordan’s head and try to restore her son. Superman and John Henry need to defeat Edge. They’re also outnumbered. And there’s a surprise leading into season two.
