“Bizarros in a Bizarro World” is episode ten of season two of Superman and Lois.
The episode starts with Superman flying through the portal in “Into Oblivion”, continuing until he emerges into the mine on the other side. A mine full of green Kryptonite. He comments that everything is backwards, speaking backwards as he does, and comes across the charred remains of what might be Anderson. Superman flies out of the mine and above the world. The sun is red and looks oddly square. Because it’s a cube. As is the Earth.
Superman flies to his alternate’s Fortress, where there appears to be a sleeping guard and varies displays about this world’s Superman. The hologram of Lara Lor-Van appears and Superman manages to speak to her the right way around. He confirms that her son is dead and that he wasn’t able to destroy Ally Allston’s Oblivion Stone. She says he has to find Ally before she merges, as Superman confirms both pendants and Allys are here. Lara says that Ally will become the most powerful being on the planet, and it won’t be possible for humans to coexist with a being of that magnitude. Something flies through her and then she fades out, as this world’s Jonathan has flown in and removed the stone. He tells Superman that Ally knows he’s here and they need to get to a safe place to hide out.
They arrive at the farm. Jonathan says Superman’s face is plastered everywhere. Ally saw the world was broken and took advantage. She’s probably at the DoD. Jonathan offers Superman Kryptonite to power up; it seems his father indulged. He isn’t surprised his own father failed and says that he and his father didn’t get along. He didn’t care Jonathan existed. And Lois says he did, more than Jonathan knows. Jonathan tells his mother she should have disappeared like he told her to.
It then covers Bizarro Jonathan-El. He and his family were heading to an event for Superman; Superman was a celebrity and his family openly known in this world and currently looks completely normal. At the event, Jonathan ends up saving someone. Bizarro Superman says Jonathan’s powers finally came in. He thinks this is good; he can go on missions with him.
This requires photoshoots, choosing an outfit and a name, as well as an iconic gesture, before helping his father. However, Bizarro Superman gets annoyed when Jonathan does something on his own. They argue and Bizarro Jonathan-El storms off for his date. Who has someone she wants him to meet. Ally Allston. Who wants to show Jonathan something and offers him tea.
Baack to the farm and Lois warns Superman that Jonathan is working for Ally. Jonathan knocks her down and demands that Superman tell him where the pendants are.
It then goes to Bizarro Lois Lane, who leaves the farm with Jordan. She says his Kryptonite use is making him crazy. Bizarro Superman yells at her as she leaves that everything she had was because of him, then torches the barn. His appearance is degenerating, and he’s picked up the twitch he was seen to have later.
The episode shows history from others on the world as well. Including Tal-Rho, who had a good relationship with Kal-El, and Anderson’s arrival on this side, which did not go the way he expected. And Anderson finally realises some things.
Bizarro Superman essentially became a drug addict and suffered physical side-effects from his Kryptonite use. Ally Allston and her followers, of which there are many, took over the DoD. But Anderson has both pendants still. The opening logo scene reverses, and finally there’s a post logo scene. Most of the episode takes place in Bizarro World, but the very end briefly follows on from the ending of the previous episode, “30 Days and 30 Nights”, and this episode puts a whole different spin on Bizarro Jonathan arriving at the farm.
