“The Ties That Bind” is episode four of season nine of Stargate SG-1.
Vala is leaving the SGC, but when she does, Daniel collapses shortly afterwards. It appears that the bracelets that Vala put on them both in “Avalon: Part 1” are still functioning, despite having been removed at the end of “Origin”. It appears that they cannot be separated for more than an hour. The theory is that the bracelets combined with the communication device they found, causing their effect to be altered in some way.
Vala knows someone who may be able to help. Pity it’s the person she stole the bracelets from in the first place. In return for his help, he wants back something else that Vala stole. Which she then sold to someone else. Who wants something else back. And so on. Until they run into the Lucian Alliance, in their first named appearance, who are taking advantage of the power vacuum left by the Goa’uld, and the people that Vala kind of ripped off in “Prometheus Unbound”. There’s a whole tangled mess of relationships caused by Vala’s tendency to be a bit less than honest.
The SGC’s budget has also been cut, so something needs doing about that, too.
I’m finding Vala to be pretty amusing.
