“The Nox” is episode seven of season one of Stargate SG-1.
Some politician, a secretary of something, maybe defence, is visiting Stargate Command. He isn’t happy with the amount of technology that has been brought back by the SG teams (namely, none), rightfully concluding that they would have little defence against Apophis should he decide to pay a visit (and one of the reasons behind the Stargate programme was to acquire advanced technology).
Teal’c mentions a world known to the Goa’uld where there is a creature which possesses the power of invisibility. The politician finds this interesting.
After passing through the stargate, it vanishes. Then Apophis turns up with a few Jaffa, also hunting the creature. SG-1 decide to ambush him, but the ambush goes quite badly wrong. Fortunately, they are rescued, and healed, by some mysterious people – one of whom is played by Armin Shimerman, of Deep Space Nine fame.
The Nox do not like the ways of either Apophis or SG-1, and wish both to leave. They are not as powerless as they might appear either.
