Stargate SG-1 – Tangent

“Tangent” is episode twelve of season four of Stargate SG-1.

Teal’c and O’Neill are testing a new craft, the X-301 Interceptor, which is based partially on the technology from a captured Goa’uld Death Glider, retrofitted with human bits (finally, they’re starting to get some technology from their explorations). This new craft has an inertialess drive (which crops up now and then in science fiction).

Whilst trying out the attack functions, they lose control of the vehicle which heads out of the atmosphere, and they cannot bail out. There is also no means of recovering them – Apollo 13, here we come.

It turns out that Apophis had set the glider up to return to its homeworld. Which could take a while, at sublight speeds.
