“Secrets” is episode nine of season two of Stargate SG-1.
Daniel returns to Abydos with Teal’c, as Carter and O’Neill are meeting the President, to update Kasuf (Erick Avari), the father of his wife, Sha’re, and tell him that he hasn’t found her yet.
Sha’re is, however, there – and pregnant. And Apophis is the father, and he wants the child to become his next host. Whilst she is expecting, her Goa’uld is sleeping.
Sam’s father, General Jake Carter, is at the reception they are attending. He appears in more episodes in the future. He has also pulled some strings to get her into NASA – which actually is a bit of a let down in comparison to what she is actually doing. O’Neill in the meanwhile gets approached by a journalist who knows about the stargate.
I think Kasuf is the only character who appears in both the original film, Stargate, and the various series, to be played by the same actor in both.
It sounds like whatever secrets policy the U.S. was using at the time didn’t have anywhere near the effectiveness of the U.K.’s Official Secrets Act (which is binding even if you don’t sign it; it’s a law, not a contract).
