“Prometheus” is episode eleven of season six of Stargate SG-1.
Major Carter is approached by a journalist who claims to have knowledge of a secret, multi-billion dollar project called Prometheus, and has a sample of trinium, the metal originally discovered in “Spirits”.
The reporter thinks that the project is some sort of reactor, but it isn’t. A decision is made to allow the reporter to document Prometheus with a camera crew, but to not release the story until it is allowed. Not the outcome the SGC would prefer, but it’s the best one they have.
Promethues – the X-303 – is the first human-built starship, and they are taken on a tour. Unfortunately, the reporter’s camera crew aren’t what they seem. They are going to blow up the ship unless they get Adrian Conrad, who was taken over by a Goa’uld in “Desperate Measures”, and Colonel Frank Simmons.
Carter gets locked in a store room and does an A-Team special.
The story does not technically conclude in this episode, but continues in the next, “Unnatural Selection”.
