Stargate SG-1 – New Order: Part 1

“New Order: Part 1” is episode one of season eight of Stargate SG-1.

At the end of the season seven finale, “Lost City: Part 2”, Dr. Weir had taken command of the SGC and Anubis had been defeated using the outpost discovered in Antarctica – Atlantis had not actually been found. It also looked like that persistent annoyance Kinsey was also finally out of the picture.

Jack O’Neill had also been put into some sort of stasis to stop the Ancient knowledge from killing him. SG-1 want to save him, but they are stopped from going to Antarctica, and they are not currently allowed to use the gate, both due to politics. The actress who plays Dr. Weir in Stargate: Atlantis has now replaced the one from Lost City.

Sam suggests that they go and ask the Asgard for help with Jack again, on the planet where the human-form Replicators were imprisoned in “Unnatural Selection”, using the Goa’uld cargo ship he modified using the Ancient knowledge, but that is also out of the question, but Sam changes Weir’s mind and she and Teal’c are allowed to go, but Daniel isn’t. Unfortunately, they arrive a bit too close to a black hole – which is at the coordinates they were aiming for.

Camulus, a Celtic god of war, contacts the SGC representing the Goa’uld System Lords, who want to negotiate a treaty. Which is a bit unusual.

Teal’c has hair. I don’t think he had at the end of last season.

The story continues in “New Order: Part 2”.
