“Gemini” is episode eleven of season eight of Stargate SG-1.
At the end of “New Order: Part 2” the human-form Replicator Fifth had escaped and built his very own Major Sam Carter. Creepy much?
The new Asgard hyperdrive on the Prometheus is apparently ready for making the trip to Atlantis, and both Sam and Daniel want to go there, but O’Neill has other ideas – although he may let one of the three go. The SGC receives a transmission of an old IDC belonging to Carter. They send a MALP through the gate and find the duplicate Sam, who had contacted them.
The duplicate Sam says that she has come to warn them that the rest of the Replicators are coming, and that she, herself, wants to be destroyed. Sam suggests that they speak to her first, to see if she can help, so arrangements are made to meet her at the Alpha Site.
Duplicate Sam says that Fifth has devised a defence against the Asgard weapon, making it useless. Sam asks for her help in getting around the defence. Unfortunately, it seems that duplicate Sam is lying, and is there as a spy for Fifth so that the Replicators can create an immunity to the weapon. Or is this actually true?
I would have thought that human-form Replicators would be stronger than normal humans. They are, after all, constructed and machine-based.
