“Forever in a Day” is episode ten of season three of Stargate SG-1.
The SG teams are freeing some Abydonian captives of the Goa’uld, including Kasuf, the father of Daniel’s wife, who tells them that Sha’re’s son has been taken by Amaunet, her Goa’uld. Daniel confronts her, but is unable to shoot her when she attacks. To stop Amaunet from killing Daniel, Teal’c is forced to kill her, although Daniel believes that she will be okay as her guards will put her in a sarcophagus. Unfortunately, this did not happen, as all the Horus guards were killed, and SGC has Sha’re’s body. Daniel is a bit upset.
Then Daniel (he thinks) wakes up again, and this time Sha’re is alive, with a much better ending. Of course, this isn’t true, and he’s dreaming, but Sha’re is trying to tell him about her son. However, Daniel ends up planning to quit the SGC, but he keeps having visions of her, telling him to find her son.
A bit of a confusing episode. It seems that much of what happened was actually a vision whilst Amaunet was trying to kill Daniel.
I always wondered how the Sha’re storyline ended. I didn’t think it would have been a happy ending. Looks like it was the first two seasons I saw.
