“Emancipation” is episode four of season one of Stargate SG-1.
Teal’c has now joined the SG-1 team following the death of the Goa’uld- possessed Kawalsky in “The Enemy Within”, although Kawalsky was heading up SG-2 himself (people in the other SG teams tend to die a lot).
SG-1 has travelled to a new planet (probably with one of those incomprehensible strings of letters and numbers as a name) and run into a Mongol culture where Captain Carter causes trouble simply by being a woman. In this culture, woman are property. Captain Carter has to follow some of their customs, which she is not happy about, but she gets involved in a fight to help change the culture and get more rights for women – before she becomes property herself.
I’d wondered how long they were going to keep the frost on people and chucking them out of the stargates at high speed. Looks like they’ve already stopped.
