“Counterstrike” is episode seven of season ten of Stargate SG-1.
SG-1 are observing Vala’s daughter, Adria, bringing a new planet into the fold of the Ori when the Odyssey in orbit detects an energy field coming from the stargate and beams them out of there. Rather fortunate that they hadn’t gone through the gate like they often do, wasn’t it?
The field kills everyone on the planet, leaving an Ori ship on the surface, so SG-1 take the opportunity to take a look at it. Bra’tac arrives in the SGC and tells General Landry that this attack had been done under the orders of the new leader of the Jaffa, who had used the Ancient weapon at Dakara to kill the planet’s population. SG-1 encounter a Jaffa team on board the ship – but Adria isn’t dead, and she’s rather powerful.
General Landry goes to Dakara, and the new leader of the Jaffa is less than cooperative. They aren’t having much luck with Jaffa leaders so far.
The actress playing Adria, Morena Baccarin, has had a number of science fiction roles to date, including V and Firefly.
