“Whispers” is episode fourteen of season two of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
This episode opens with Chief O’Brien taking a runabout through the wormhole to the Gamma Quadrant. He starts narrating a personal log regarding the events of the last few days. He was fleeing unknown people in order to warn a planet.
O’Brien had apparently returned to the station from the Gamma Quadrant where he had been going through some security arrangements with some people who were coming to the station, who had been having a civil war for the last twelve years.
He started noticing odd behaviour on the part of the others on the station, starting with his wife. They weren’t acting normally, and were lying to him and forgetting things he’d told them previously.
When O’Brien starts poking around, he finds some things that disturb him. Most of the crew is behaving oddly. Just what is happening on the station?
